Haniel Scholarship Program

You have excellent academic achievements, are socially engaged, and have the ambition to make a difference through values-based entrepreneurship? Then the Haniel Scholarship Program is the right choice for you.
The Haniel Foundation and the Foundation of the German People are jointly offering a scholarship for individuals with outstanding academic achievements, a commitment to social causes, and entrepreneurial ambitions.
Scholarship recipients will be admitted to the Foundation of the German People and the Haniel Alumni Network; they will also receive the following financial support:
- A one-time travel allowance of 1,000€ at the start of the scholarship
- A one-time startup grant of €500 at the start of the scholarship
- A monthly scholarship for study abroad of €2,300
- A tuition subsidy of up to €10,000 per academic year
The scholarship is compatible with other funding programs.
Eligible applicants include individuals
- from all academic disciplines who plan to pursue a business-related study program abroad lasting at least two and no more than four semesters, leading to an internationally recognized degree
- enrolled in their first or, at most, second full-time master’s program leading to an internationally recognized degree
- with a demonstrated interest in economic issues. Evidence of this may be provided through a thematic focus in their studies, relevant professional experience or internships, their own startup ventures, or volunteer work related to their field
- who have excelled in their university or university of applied sciences studies (at least a bachelor’s degree). The bachelor’s degree must have been completed no later than
