With its range of subjects from natural sciences and engineering to medicine and the humanities and social sciences, the University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr) is excellently positioned to work on research topics across disciplinary boundaries and provide answers to the big questions of the future. Therefore TU Dortmund University is now extending its proven networking format, Science Speed Dating, to the alliance. The first meeting will take place on 27 November at TU Dortmund University. The topic is "Innovation under pressure: well-being and burnout in high-performance environments".
Well-being in high-performance environments, like science and practice, is a complex phenomenon shaped by diverse factors ranging from motivation and resilience to stress and burnout. Its study requires perspectives from psychology, medicine, social sciences, economics, and engineering alike. While some disciplines examine cognitive, emotional, or physiological dimensions, others address organizational dynamics, societal impacts, or the design of healthier work environments. The UA Ruhr Science Speed Dating highlights the interdisciplinary nature of scientific and entrepreneurial well-being and invites dialogue across fields to better understand how engagement, innovation, and health interact in these environments and find points of contact for cooperation.
