Spring, research, fascination. On 26 April, the Spring Festival transforms Duisburg city centre into a colourful world. Right in the middle: the University of Duisburg-Essen. Between hands-on activities and exhibits, visitors can experience science up close. It’s also well worth a visit for anyone interested in studying at UDE or in UDE as an employer. Information on study programmes as well as jobs and apprenticeships will be available.
Prepare to be amazed: physicists demonstrate what experimental research is all about – to watch and to try out. A highlight for children is the “WE-DU MINT” project from the Faculty of Engineering: they can build mini robots called “brush fuzzies”.
The nursing sciences of the Faculty of Medicine also invite passers-by to join in. The focus here is on “activating care”. Visitors can learn about and try out relevant approaches on site, including the “Times Up & Go” test to assess “traffic light abilities”, as well as other interactive formats. There is also a vote on forms of address in nursing (“How do you address your specialist nurse?”), a therapeutic pea bath with small surprises, and practical stations with infusions or a materials quiz.
UDE invites everyone interested to visit the stand opposite the City Palais on Königstraße between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
