About Viktoria Niebel:

Viktoria Niebel is a social scientist and is responsible for career counselling for female early career researchers and the promotion of equal opportunities at the Graduate Center Plus. She also coordinates the tenure track mentoring programme for junior professors.

Previously, she worked at the Ruhr University Bochum as a research assistant at the Chair of Social Theory and Social Psychology (specialising in inter- and transculturality and intercultural competence) and as a local project manager of the international, Horizon 2020-funded equality project 'RESET - Redesigning Equality and Scientific Excellence'. In this role, she designed gender equality goals and strategies at universities in Europe and advised project partners on the strategic implementation of their gender equality plans and measures.

Her experience in promoting the careers of female academics is based on her work as a former central equal opportunities officer for academic staff and her own academic career, which gives her counselling work a broad understanding of the needs and challenges of equal opportunities and diversity in the qualification phases.
