The faculty has an atypical structure compared to other German universities, as it combines all engineering disciplines available at the University Duisburg-Essen in one organizational unit. This special organizational structure aims to promote and facilitate the networking of the teaching units with regard to both their teaching and research activities. Furthermore, the size of the unit also results in organizational advantages with regard to multiple use and standardization of organizational processes.
