Contact electrification projectWhy so charged?

If two materials have contact, an electrostatic charge transfer can occur. It may cause small sparks during discharging. Such contact triboelectricity can be used to generate electricity. UDE-physicists investigate the effects. That's funded with over 250,000 euros by DFG.
