What is my password?

Students at UDE

Using the UDE service card number to login:

The date of birth automatically is your first password.
It has to be entered like this: DDMMYYYY.
For security reasons, you should alter your password after you have registered successfully.
The new password must not contain more than 25 characters.

Using the UDE identification (= Unikennung) to login:

You will receive the password to your UDE identification directly from the CIM.

When newly registering, you choose your password (max. 25 characters) yourself.

Using your library card or UDE service card number to login

Please get your passwort reset to your date of birth:
  • personally in one of our branch libraries.
    Please present your student ID or your library card. 
  • email to information@ub.uni-due.de.
    Please tell us you want a password reset and provide your card number.

Using the UDE identification (= Unikennung) to login

UDE identifications are provided by the CIM, not by the library. If you have forgotten your password to your UDE identification, please contact the CIM directly.

Tips for creating a secure password

A strong and secure password

  • is at least eight characters long
  • does not contain your user name or real name
  • contains characters from each of the following four categories:
    uppercase letters (A - Z)
    lowercase letters (a - z)
    numbers (0 - 9) 
    symbols, such as ( ) [ ] { } ? ! $ % & = * + ~ , . ; : < > - _
