Alumni Faculty of Engineering
Classic alumni associations are networks of graduates who want to keep in touch with their old university after graduation. However, we as engineering alumni see ourselves as a network of both students and graduates and staff of the faculty as well as of all those interested in the activities of engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
Graduation ceremony in summer semester 2026
The Duisburg engineers' graduation ceremony has been held twice a year since 2002. Prizes for the best graduates (Rohde and Schwarz Award, Sparkasse am Niederrhein Prize) and various other awards are given out at this event.
However, the highlight is always the celebration of the Bachelor's and Master's graduates as well as the newly doctoral researchers by the Dean of the Faculty. In this way, the university recognises the completion of an important chapter in their lives.
On Friday, 24 July 2026 at 3:00 pm, the Duisburg Alumni Network of the Faculty of Engineering will once again organise a graduation ceremony at the Duisburg University Campus, LX building for all recent graduates.
Admission: from 1:30 pm
Possibility for photos in the gown: until 2:50 pm
Start of the ceremony: 3:00 pm s.t.
Following the ceremony, the Alumni Summer Party and the 25th anniversary celebration of the Faculty of Engineering will be held on the lawn between the LT, LN, and ZBT buildings, where you can continue the festivities with music, a raffle, and karaoke.
