The Southeast Asia Exchange Program
Our Southeast Asia Exchange Program has been running for over 25 years. Students from the Faculty of Engineering at UDE have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at one of the following renowned partner universities in Southeast Asia:
This exchange program is in high demand every year.
Applications are typically submitted one year before the planned stay abroad.
Program Summary
About the Program Key Features
- No tuition fees at the partner universities
- Predefined course equivalencies for early academic planning
- Application and admission apply to the program as a whole, not to a specific university
- Clear guidelines (this is only a summary):
- Admission requirements of the partner university must be met
- No retake exams allowed
- Bachelor students may only choose from undergraduate courses at UKM/UI
- Master students may only choose from graduate courses at UKM/UI (exceptions apply for required foundation courses)
- Experienced contacts at the Mercator Offices abroad
- Support at UDE provided by SCIES
Selection Criteria Application procedure
- Application Period: 03.11.-16.11.2025
- Motivation Letter (in English)
- Selection Criteria:
- Current grade point average (2.5 or better)
- Average of more than 20 credits per semester
- Possibilities for academic compensation
- Priority may be given to students with a mandatory study abroad requirement
- Online applications only
- Only complete applications will be considered (submit as one ZIP file)
- Only one application per candidate
- Application deadline: 16.11.2025
