In spring 2027, the faculty-internal Winter Seminar of the Faculty of Medicine will take place for the 19th time from

February 21 - 24, 2027
(arrival day 20.02., departure day 24.02.)

at the Hotel Pichlmayrgut in Austria (www.pichlmayrgut.at, www.reiteralm.at).

Aim of the winter seminar

The aim of the three-day seminar is to bring professors and academic staff into closer contact with each other as part of a training event, to initiate new research collaborations and to intensify existing ones. In a total of 45 presentations, the participants present their field of research, cooperation applications and cooperation offers in ten-minute presentations. The lecture sessions will be moderated by the participating professors.

The final selection of participants will be made by the organizers.

What you need to know:

 The process in brief

 

  • General arrival day: Sunday, 20.02.2027
  • Start of the seminar Monday, 21.02.2027, 8 am, welcome by the organizers
  • 3 seminar days, around 40 presentations (each 10 minutes plus 10 minutes discussion time) by the research community of the Faculty of Medicine under professorial chairmanship 
  • Fixed discussion times after the presentations as well as opportunities for networking and exchange during the project times and the joint dinners
  • End of the seminar on Wednesday, 24.02.2027 at approx. 12.00 noon
  • Joint departure on Wednesday, 24.02.2027 from approx. 2.30 p.m.

 

Who is eligible for participation?

 

  • Physicians and postdocs in the natural sciences at the Faculty of Medicine

 

Participation requirements

 

  • Registration by end of 2026 
  • Approval of the supervisor
  • Submission of an abstract (academic staff) upon request

 

Business trip application

The seminar is an official event of the Faculty of Medicine, so that participation is a business trip for which a business trip application must be submitted.

 

Directions

Arrival is on an individual basis (car, approx. 800 km; train; flight to Salzburg).

For selected flights, which will be announced by the Research Unit after the participants have been selected, the respective bus transfer “Salzburg Airport - Hotel” (there and back) will be organized.

Travelers by train can use the hotel service for pick-up from Schladming train station (subject to a charge) or choose a connection with a stop in Pichl, the train station is within walking distance of the hotel.

 

Costs

 

The hotel costs (accommodation incl. half board) of the participating academic staff are covered by the Faculty of Medicine. The participating professors are responsible for their own accommodation and meal costs.

The travel costs and the participation fee of € 150 must be paid by all participants themselves and can, if necessary, be settled within the framework of the general regulations on available third-party funds.
